CUPRO NICKEL 90/10 Grade FASTENERS is made up of a combination of copper and nickel. It also contains a considerable amount of manganese and iron, which helps make structures for saltwater environments and offshore environments. Therefore, CUPRO NICKEL 90/10 FASTENERS can stand in different atmospheres containing different halogens like chlorine. They resist oxidation upto 1600 degrees Fahrenheit to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit and thus can be used in environments where the temperature could be considerably high. During welding, there could be an occurrence of carbide precipitation, but due to the amount of carbon present in the alloy, it restricts it from occurring. Compared to the other alloys, this is mechanically more strong and can withstand significant amounts of pressure. Thus 90/10 CU NI FASTENERS also prevents corrosion cracking. Also, it has a great defense against corrosion pitting and others. Here, copper acts as the base element, whereas nickel is added with other elements to its composition. However, the amount of nickel is considerably higher than that of the other elements added. The alloy could also contain a certain amount of zinc, which does not exceed 1 percent.
The amount of nickel guarantees corrosion resistance, also magnesium is added to improve the performance in electrical media. Due to the elements and their properties in the alloys, these CU NI 90/10 COATED FASTENERS are used in a wide range of applications.
